My name is Shannon McCauley. I moved to Austin from Southern California in 1996 after completing my Bachelor's in Business. After working in the high tech industry for 7 years, I decided to take my love of training and people, and couple it with my passion for animals. I graduated from Triple Crown’s Academy for Professional Dog Trainers in 2003 and started Best Friends Training.
I most enjoy helping families and their dogs live more fulfilling lives together. Being able to help keep dogs in their homes is most rewarding. Numerous dogs are abandoned at shelters for minor behavior and training issues that I teach people to solve and avoid all together. I also work with local rescues and shelters to help ensure adoptions are a permanent success!
My training at Triple Crown included all levels of obedience, agility, behavior modification including aggression and anxiety related issues, tracking, search and rescue, police protection and narcotic dog training, and hunting training. I am a member of the IACP (International Association of Canine Professionals) and APDT (Association of Pet Dog Trainers.) I continue my education by attending professional seminars, reading and researching avidly, and learning something new from each four-legged client!
